Rabbi Brian Beal has been a congregational rabbi for over 25 years. Currently, he leads Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne, New Jersey. Through his commitment to social justice, interfaith coalition building, support of domestic violence victims, low income families and Jewish in recovery from addiction, he brings tikkun to our troubled world.

A graduate of Emory University, he served as a professional fundraiser for his alma mater before pursuing the rabbinate.  Rabbi Beal received a Masters of Arts in Hebrew Letters in 1997 and ordination in 1998 from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where he wrote a thesis on Judaism and the Twelve Steps.  In 2023 he received the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity from HUC-JIR.

Rabbi Beal served as a consultant for RespectAbility (a not-for-profit that advances opportunities for people with disabilities), Guest Lecturer at Alliance Theological Seminary and Nyack College, and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey-West Hudson Valley Association of Reform Rabbis.
