Dvir Cahana is a senior at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah and founder of The Amen Institute – a creative sandbox for art and torah “creation”. Dvir has always danced between the worlds of art and Jewish education. His multiple studio albums show a love of Yiddishkeit and wordplay. He is the rabbi educator of the hip hop collective, Rappers and Rabbis, and has performed on stages across North America. Dvir was a recipient of the Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36” award and sat on Moishe House’s regional advisory board as the founder of the Montreal house. He lives with his wife, Shalhevet, in Washington Heights.
His project, The Amen Institute is a place where Judaism is explored from an artistic lens. With programming hubs in multiple cities, a high school mentorship program and a fellowship that facilitates artist and rabbi collaborations, Dvir is building a global community of art practitioners and wisdom disseminators.
