Myriam Ackermann-Sommer, M.A., is a Sorbonne (Paris) alumna and is currently completing her PhD in Jewish American literature. She teaches English at the Sorbonne and at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin and works part time as a translator. Myriam joined the Fellowship for Rabbinic Entrepreneurs in 2020 with her husband and close collaborator, Emile Ackermann. She co-created a partnership minyan in Paris and, in 2023, became the first Orthodox female rabbi in France. Myriam co-founded Kol-Elles, an institution whose purpose is to further Jewish women’s Torah education in France, initiating them to Talmud, Halacha, and Hashkafa. Born in Southern France and currently living in Paris, Myriam is the proud mother of Elisheva.
