Rabbi Robert Scheinberg is the rabbi of the United Synagogue of Hoboken, NJ, a century-old community which he has steered through a period of unprecedented growth and revival. A graduate of the JTS Rabbinical School, he previously served congregations in Massachusetts and Alabama. He is also a scholar of Jewish Liturgy, receiving his Ph.D. from the JTS in 2020.  He served on the editorial committees for the prayerbooks for Conservative Judaism, Mahzor Lev Shalem  and Siddur Lev Shalem, and teaches Liturgy to students at the Academy for Jewish Religion and JTS. He has held various leadership positions with the Rabbinical Assembly locally and nationally, including serving on the RA’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards. He lives in Hoboken with his wife, Rabbi Naomi Kalish, a pastoral care educator, and their three daughters.
