Share Your Story of Rabbinic Leadership

Back

What We’re Doing:

We often talk about the rabbinate in terms of data, like our recent From Calling to Career study, which provided a wealth of empirical data on the field.

While the data showed us what is happening, it doesn’t yet tell us how rabbinic leadership looks and feels when it actually works.

This is where your story matters.

Atra is partnering with The Starfish Institute to collect stories of moments when a rabbi’s leadership made a meaningful difference. Whether you are a rabbi, a student, an employer, or a community member, your experience is a vital piece of qualitative data.

We want to understand: When rabbinic leadership truly makes a difference, what makes that possible? And how can we create more of those moments across the field?

Help us move from individual moments of excellence to a clearer understanding of the conditions that will allow a flourishing rabbinate to be consistent across the field.

Who We’re Inviting:

Anyone with a connection to rabbinic leadership:

  • Rabbis – of all ages and stages
  • Community members – those who interact with a rabbi often and those who don’t
  • Leaders who hire, support, or train rabbis
  • Students and emerging rabbis

Why Your Story Matters:

Your experience isn’t just a memory — it’s vital insight. These stories help us see the conditions that enable powerful leadership, and how to strengthen them so these moments become the norm, not the exception.
