Dr. Rebekah Thornhill Tokatlilar is the Research Specialist at Atra: Center for Rabbinic Innovation.
Dr. Rebekah Tokatlilar received her PhD in Education and Jewish Studies from NYU and wrote her dissertation about rabbinic training in the US. Her findings reveal gaps in rabbinic training that further demonstrate the need for the kind of training that Atra is uniquely able to provide. Her expertise in this area and academic experience contributes to Atra’s ability to hone its methodology, provide significant thought leadership, lead field-building efforts, and further Atra’s impact. Prior to joining Atra, Bekah was the managing director at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU, where she worked for 11 years training and developing emerging Jewish leaders all over the world. She has experience creating, incubating, and growing cohort-based programs, including many that have been scaled and or replicated by others: Bronfman Global Ambassadors (Kahal/JDC), Bronfman Global Fellows (World Union of Jewish Students), the Envisioning the Mountaintop Fellowship: A Black & Jewish Dialogue, and more.
Bekah is an adjunct professor at NYU (teaching spiritual leadership and social justice in the Silver School of Social Work), the faculty lead for the Intrapreneurship track of Hillel International’s Springboard Fellowship, and co-founder of Chutzpanit Consulting.
