Zissy Turner serves on the Judaic Studies faculty at S.A.R High School in Riverdale, NY, teaching Tanach and Gemara. During her time at SAR, Zissy has been a Student Dean, as well as directed the Machon Siach Graduate Fellowship, a project of SAR High School’s research institute. Zissy trained as a Yoetzet Halacha through Nishmat’s Miriam Glaubach Center, and is the Yoetzet Halacha of Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford, CT. Zissy has previously been Community Educator at Lincoln Square Synagogue, as well as Congregational Scholar at Kesher Israel Synagogue in Washington DC. Zissy is a graduate of Yeshiva University’s Graduate Program in Advanced Talmud Study (GPATS), where she was a Wexner Graduate Fellow/Davidson Scholar, and later learned advanced halacha in Ohr Torah Stone’s International Halacha Scholars Program. Zissy has taught in diverse communities across the United States and Europe sharing her passion for Torah with Jews in all stages of life.
